AC Service
AC Services from your local Knight Claremont Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram dealership serving Ontario, Rancho Cucamonga, and Pomona
You’ve relied on your vehicle’s air-conditioner to see you through our hot SoCal summer months, and you want to ensure that it works flawlessly. Because the cooler days of fall and winter are coming, you won’t be using your AC at all, which makes it an excellent time for maintenance. At Knight Claremont Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram, the factory-certified auto techs of our Service Department help keep your cool by dealing with the following problems.
What if I need refrigerant?
The refrigerant does not normally evaporate from your AC system, which is completely closed. If your refrigerant level goes down, it’s likely because you have a leak in the system. Signs of this problem include a puddle of water under your car that feels greasy or frost and ice on the refrigerant lines of evaporator coils. Once we locate the leak, then repair it.
What does it mean if there is a bad compressor?
The compressor moves the refrigerant through your AC system. A malfunction in the compressor prevents the refrigerant from moving through the system and cooling your cabin. A new compressor may be needed.
What does a clogged condenser do?
The condenser cools the refrigerant that leaves the compressor by transforming the gas into a liquid. If the condenser is clogged with dirt and debris, the refrigerant won’t be able to flow. This is a simple fix that requires unblocking the compressor. However, if the problem happens because the compressor is damaged, the device must be replaced.
What does a broken blower mean?
The blower uses a fan to force the cool air through the vents and into your cabin. If it’s broken or damaged, it cannot push the air through your system. If the fans are spinning too slowly, they may be dirty, which only requires cleaning. However, if the fans aren’t moving at all, the blower may be damaged and require replacement.
What about a dirty filter?
As the name implies, the filter cleans the air that enters the cabin. If too much dirt, dust, or pollen accumulates on the filter, the air does not flow, reducing the cooling power of the AC. You can remove the air filter yourself from behind the dashboard or glove box for cleaning with a vacuum or soft brush. You can also replace the filter if it is damaged.
