Could you talk about features offered for the 2021 model year?
There are seven Ram 1500 trim levels to choose from in the 2021 model year. The base trim is called the Tradesman. Ready to work, this trim is outfitted with trailer sway damping, air conditioning, a tilting and telescoping steering wheel, a 5-inch touchscreen, 18-inch steel wheels, and a six-speaker sound system. The upper trim levels add aluminum wheels, smartphone integration, fog lights, leather upholstery, a larger touchscreen (8.4” or 12”), heated and ventilated front seats, side steps, front and rear parking sensors, power-deployable running boards, and a wireless charging pad.
What about the engine options?
The Ram 1500’s powertrain lineup consists of four options. The base engine is a 3.6L Pentastar V6 that created 305 hp and 269 lb-ft of torque. This engine is outfitted with Ram’s eTorque mild-hybrid technology for enhanced fuel economy. The second engine is a 5.7L V8, which can be had with or without the eTorque system, that generates 395 hp and 410 lb-ft of torque. The third engine option offered for the lineup is a 3.0L EcoDiesel V6 that produces 260 hp and 480 lb-ft of torque. The TRX trim level is powered by the trim-exclusive 6.2L supercharged V8 that produces 702 hp and 650 lb-ft of torque. All engines are outfitted with an automatic eight-speed transmission and standard RWD while 4WD is offered.
Can you go over the safety features offered?
Throughout the Ram 1500 lineup, there are a number of advanced safety features and modern driver aids that protect the driver and passengers aboard. These features include trailer sway damping which adjusts the truck’s brakes to help regain control of the trailer if it starts to sway, forward collision mitigation that will warn the driver of an impending collision and apply the brakes if necessary, and blind-spot monitoring that alerts the driver to vehicles in the truck’s blindspot when the driver cannot see them.
