What Engines are Available?
The Dodge Charger comes with a few powerful engines which are tied to the trim level. The SXT comes with a 3.6-liter V6 engine that pumps out an impressive 292 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque, which matches to an eight-speed automatic transmission. All-wheel drive is available for the SXT, which adds a little more torque and horsepower. Moving up to the R/T gets you a 5.7-liter V8 that makes 370 horsepower and 395 lb-ft of torque. The two most powerful engines in the Charger lineup is the 6.4-liter V8 with 485 horsepower and 475 lb-ft of torque that is standard on the Scat Pack and the 6.2-liter V8 with a whopping 707 horsepower for the SRT Hellcat Widebody.

Five trim levels are available for the Dodge Charger, and each comes with a few terrific features. Starting things off is the SXT, which comes with keyless entry and ignition, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Next up is the GT, which adds larger wheels, a performance suspension, front sport seats, and an 8.4-inch touchscreen. Higher trims of the Charger get Brembo high-performance brakes, a limited-slip rear differential, and a Widebody package with flared wheel arches, wider wheels and tires, and adaptive suspension dampers. You also get several options, including xenon headlights, an upgraded suspension and tires, a panoramic sunroof, leather upholstery, and heated and ventilated front seats.
What are some of the safety features?
With great power comes great safety, and the Dodge Charger has some terrific safety features. Available is a full-speed forward collision warning with active braking, lane departure warning with lane-keeping assist, automatic high-beam headlamps, and blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-path detection. You also get a rear backup camera and a rear park assist system so you can see obstacles behind you and back into parking spaces with confidence. Perhaps the most impressive safety feature on the Charger is the rain brake support, which helps the brake pads dry in rainy conditions by applying a small amount of pressure to the calipers. It engages when you engage the windshield wipers.
